Haven Place
HEALING BEGINS HERE
A Haven Place Retreat is an incredibly special and unique opportunity to help you heal from relational traumas you’ve experienced. Whether it’s the betrayal of a spouse, loved ones, parents, or even church hurt, these intimate two-day retreats will be an important part of learning to work through what you’ve walked through.
Lysa TerKeurst and her family host these retreats at her home just outside of Charlotte, NC. The sessions for each retreat are led by Lysa, author of multiple New York Times bestselling books written to help women heal from their greatest heartbreaks in life, along with Licensed Professional Counselor Jim Cress, and theologian Dr. Joel Muddamalle. These retreats combine biblical wisdom, therapeutic insight, and compassionate community.
Each retreat stands fully on its own and is designed to provide a complete and meaningful experience. Plus, you will get small group time with Lysa, Jim, and Joel to ask them questions and finally get to the root of what’s been keeping you stuck in the heartbreak and confusion over what happened. Whether you attend one retreat or choose to stay for multiple experiences, our hope is that your time at Haven Place will help you take intentional steps toward healing.
At Haven Place, every retreat is beautifully designed to be small and personal, creating a safe environment where women can step away from everyday pressures, process their stories, and begin moving forward with greater clarity, strength, and hope.

The "Good Boundaries and Goodbyes" Retreat
Discover the freedom that healthy boundaries can bring at Haven Place Ministries in Charlotte, North Carolina through a transformative two-day intensive inspired by Good Boundaries and Goodbyes.
Lysa understands what it’s like to feel torn between wanting to love people well and protecting your own emotional and spiritual health. Many of us have been taught that saying “no” is selfish, that keeping the peace is always the loving choice, or that setting boundaries means we’re failing someone we care about. But unhealthy relationships often leave us exhausted, resentful, and wondering if there’s a better way. This intensive, led by Lysa alongside Jim Cress and Dr. Joel Muddamalle, will help you discover that healthy boundaries aren’t about pushing people away—they’re about creating space for healthier relationships to flourish. This retreat is hosted by Lysa and her family at Haven Place in a peaceful setting intentionally designed to help you feel understood, cared for, and safe.
NOTE: Book your travel after purchasing your ticket and receiving your confirmation email.
YOU DESERVE RELATIONSHIPS THAT REFLECT BOTH GRACE AND TRUTH.
We want to help you understand that setting healthy boundaries isn’t unloving—it is often one of the most loving things you can do for yourself and for others. God never intended for you to carry responsibilities that aren’t yours, remain trapped in unhealthy relationship patterns, or sacrifice your peace in the name of keeping everyone else happy.
It’s time to stop feeling guilty for protecting the life God has entrusted to you. Your time with Lysa, Jim, and Joel will include therapeutic insights and solid theological teaching. You’ll learn what the Bible actually says—and doesn’t say—about boundaries, difficult relationships, and when it may be necessary to lovingly say goodbye. You’ll also spend time in breakout sessions with small groups of women who understand the challenges of navigating complicated relationships.
What you’ll experience:
During your time at Haven Place, you’ll experience powerful teaching sessions that combine biblical truth, emotional insight, and practical next steps for establishing healthy boundaries.
Together we will:
- Gain biblical wisdom about why healthy boundaries are essential to healthy relationships.
- Discover practical tools for communicating boundaries with confidence, wisdom, and grace.
- Learn how to recognize unhealthy relationship patterns and respond in healthy ways.
- Understand when reconciliation is possible—and when it may be necessary to lovingly say goodbye.
Experience the freedom that comes from protecting your peace while continuing to love others well.
The Good Boundaries and Goodbyes Retreat is for you if:
- You struggle to say “no” without feeling guilty.
- You often feel emotionally drained by the expectations of others.
- You find yourself stuck in unhealthy or one-sided relationships.
- You want to establish healthier boundaries without damaging the relationships that matter most.
- You’re wondering whether it’s time to step away from a relationship that has become unhealthy.
- You long for practical biblical wisdom that will help you love others while also protecting the life God has entrusted to you.
The "Making peace with what I can't control" Retreat event
Discover the freedom that comes from surrendering what you were never meant to carry at Haven Place Ministries in Charlotte, North Carolina through a transformative two-day intensive inspired by Making Peace with What I Can’t Control.
Peace isn’t found by controlling your circumstances—it’s found by trusting the One who is in control.
Lysa understands how exhausting it is to constantly carry the weight of things you cannot change. Whether you’re trying to fix a relationship, worrying about someone you love, carrying the burden of uncertain circumstances, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life, the pressure to hold everything together can leave you anxious, discouraged, and emotionally drained. This intensive, led by Lysa alongside Jim Cress and Dr. Joel Muddamalle, will help you discover that true peace isn’t found in having all the answers—it’s found in learning to surrender what only God can carry. This retreat is hosted by Lysa and her family at Haven Place in a peaceful setting intentionally designed to help you feel understood, cared for, and safe.
NOTE: Book your travel after purchasing your ticket and receiving your confirmation email.
YOU DESERVE TO LIVE WITH PEACE, EVEN WHEN LIFE FEELS UNCERTAIN.
We want to help you acknowledge the weight you’ve been carrying while discovering that God never intended for you to control every outcome. Trying to manage what only He can manage often leaves us anxious, exhausted, and disconnected from the peace He promises.
It’s time to loosen your grip on what you cannot control and strengthen your trust in the God who never loses control. Your time with Lysa, Jim, and Joel will include therapeutic insights and solid theological teaching. You’ll learn what the Bible actually says—and doesn’t say—about anxiety, surrender, waiting, and trusting God through uncertain seasons. You’ll also spend time in breakout sessions with small groups of women who understand what it feels like to carry burdens that seem too heavy to bear.
What you’ll experience:
During your time at Haven Place, you’ll experience powerful teaching sessions that combine biblical truth, emotional insight, and practical next steps for finding lasting peace in the midst of uncertainty.
Together we will:
- Gain biblical wisdom about surrendering control and trusting God’s character.
- Discover practical tools for managing anxiety, fear, and overwhelming thoughts.
- Learn how to distinguish between what is yours to steward and what belongs in God’s hands.
- Develop healthy rhythms that cultivate peace even when circumstances don’t change.
- Experience the freedom that comes from releasing unrealistic expectations and embracing God’s presence.
- Find encouragement through honest conversations with women walking similar journeys.
The Making Peace with What I Can’t Control Retreat is for you if:
- You constantly worry about situations you cannot change.
- You feel responsible for fixing other people’s problems or carrying burdens that aren’t yours.
- You’re walking through a season of uncertainty, waiting, or unanswered prayers.

The "surviving an unwanted Divorce"
Retreat Event

Divorce may have changed your story—but it doesn’t have to define your future.
Lysa understands that divorce is never the story you planned. When a marriage ends, the pain can feel overwhelming. Divorce isn’t just the loss of a relationship—it can feel like the loss of the future you imagined and the life you thought you were building. But healing is possible. This intensive, led by Lysa alongside Jim Cress and Dr. Joel Muddamalle, is designed to help women process this painful season through biblical wisdom, therapeutic insight, and compassionate community. Together, you’ll discover that while divorce changes many things, it does not have the final say over your life or your future. This retreat is hosted by Lysa and her family at Haven Place in a peaceful setting intentionally designed to help you feel understood, cared for, and safe.
NOTE: Book your travel after purchasing your ticket and receiving your confirmation email.
YOU DESERVE TO BELIEVE THAT YOUR STORY ISN’T OVER.
We want to acknowledge the heartbreak you’ve experienced without minimizing the depth of your loss. Divorce changes so much, but it doesn’t have to determine the rest of your life. God still sees you, loves you, and has a purpose for your future.
This retreat isn’t about staying stuck in the past—it’s about helping you process your story so you can move forward with hope. Your time with Lysa, Jim, and Joel will include therapeutic insights and solid theological teaching. You’ll learn what the Bible actually says—and doesn’t say—about divorce, grief, healing, forgiveness, identity, and restoration. You’ll also spend time in breakout sessions with small groups of women who understand the unique challenges of walking through divorce.

A Personal Invitation from Lysa
When our family was walking through some of the hardest relational pain of our lives, we longed for a place where people could come to heal.
A place that felt safe.
A place where stories could be shared honestly.
A place where women would experience biblical truth and compassionate care.
Haven Place was created out of that longing.
If you are carrying pain from a relationship, struggling to forgive, or walking through the heartbreak of divorce or trauma caused by someone you thought you could trust, I want you to know you are not alone.
Our team would be honored to walk alongside you during this time.
My prayer is that your time at Haven Place becomes a turning point in your healing journey — where hope begins to grow again and God gently begins restoring the parts of your heart that have been hurting.
I truly hope you’ll join us.
— Lysa
