Just a few steps from my front door. This retreat is a dream my family and I had when we were healing from the deep pain of relational trauma. We promised God that we would help others who are in relationships where there is dysfunction, heartbreak, and confusion. Whether your pain is coming from the betrayal of your spouse, broken trust with family members, or the heartbreak of other challenging relationships, this retreat is for you.

Forgiving What You Can’t Forget
Discover the life-changing power of forgiveness at Haven Place Ministries in Charlotte, North Carolina, with a transformative two-day intensive retreat inspired by Lysa TerKeurst’s bestselling book, Forgiving What You Can’t Forget. Lysa understands how forgiveness can feel like a terribly unfair gift you have to give to the person who hurt you the most. She knew she was supposed to forgive but didn’t know how to when the person who hurt her never said sorry or owned what they’d done. Even when she’d tried to go through the motions of trying to forgive, it wasn’t too long before her pain would get triggered and all the feelings of bitterness and unfairness overwhelmed her again.

If you’ve had some of these same feelings of resistance and confusion, this intensive led by Lysa alongside Licensed Professional Counselor Jim Cress, and Theologian Dr. Joel Muddamalle, is just what you need to take your next steps toward healing. This special retreat is hosted by Lysa and her family in a beautiful setting designed to help you feel understood, cared for, and safe. Space is very limited so secure your place today.
You deserve to stop suffering because of what others have done to you.
We want to stand with you to fully acknowledge the pain you’ve been carrying. We want to bear witness that what happened to you was wrong and should not be minimized or excused away. But we also want to help you see that you deserve to stop suffering because of what others have done to you.
It’s time to put a stake in the ground and declare that the person who hurt you in the past no longer gets to hold you back from moving forward in the future.
Your main session time with Lysa, Jim and Joel will be rich with therapeutic insights and solid theological teaching. You’ll learn what the Bible actually says and doesn’t say about forgiveness. You’ll take home practical tools to use again and again so that your healing can continue.
You’llalso spend time with each leader in breakout sessions with a small group of other women who understand what you’ve been through and the unique challenges you’re facing. There’s just something so wonderful when you connect with others who help you feel less alone in what you’re walking through.
During our time together, you will experience a marked moment in your life story. But don’t worry. Our team understands that no part of forgiveness should feel forced. This marked moment is one that is right for you and at the right time for you. Forgiveness is both a decision you make and a process you walk through at the pace your heart can handle. We know this part of the journey can feel overwhelming and forgiveness may feel impossible, but it’s our prayer that after our time together, you’ll find peace and courage to start walking toward the good future God has in store for you. Forgiveness really is God’s gift of mercy for the hurting human heart to heal.
