Haven Place

 HEALING BEGINS HERE

A Haven Place Retreat is an incredibly special and unique opportunity to help you heal from relational traumas you’ve experienced. Whether it’s the betrayal of a spouse, loved ones, parents, or even church hurt, these intimate two-day retreats will be an important part of learning to work through what you’ve walked through.

Lysa TerKeurst and her family host these retreats at her home just outside of Charlotte, NC. The sessions for each retreat are led by Lysa, author of multiple New York Times bestselling books written to help women heal from their greatest heartbreaks in life, along with Licensed Professional Counselor Jim Cress, and theologian Dr. Joel Muddamalle. These retreats combine biblical wisdom, therapeutic insight, and compassionate community.

Each retreat stands fully on its own and is designed to provide a complete and meaningful experience. Plus, you will get small group time with Lysa, Jim, and Joel to ask them questions and finally get to the root of what’s been keeping you stuck in the heartbreak and confusion over what happened. Whether you attend one retreat or choose to stay for multiple experiences, our hope is that your time at Haven Place will help you take intentional steps toward healing.

At Haven Place, every retreat is beautifully designed to be small and personal, creating a safe environment where women can step away from everyday pressures, process their stories, and begin moving forward with greater clarity, strength, and hope.

"forgiving what you can't forget" Retreat

Discover the life-changing power of forgiveness at Haven Place Ministries in Charlotte, North Carolina through a transformative two-day intensive inspired by Forgiving What You Can’t Forget.
Lysa understands how forgiveness can feel like a terribly unfair gift you have to give to the person who hurt you the most. She knew she was supposed to forgive but didn’t know how when the person who hurt her never said sorry or owned what they’d done. Even when she tried to go through the motions of forgiveness, it wasn’t long before the pain was triggered again and feelings of bitterness and unfairness returned. If you’ve experienced similar feelings of resistance and confusion, this intensive led by Lysa, alongside Jim Cress and Dr. Joel Muddamall, may be exactly what you need to take the next steps toward healing. This retreat is hosted by Lysa and her family at Haven Place in a peaceful setting intentionally designed to help you feel understood, cared for, and safe. NOTE: Book your travel after purchasing your ticket and receiving your confirmation email.

You deserve to stop suffering because of what others have done to you.

We want to stand with you to fully acknowledge the pain you’ve been carrying. What happened to you was wrong and should not be minimized or excused away. But we also want to help you see that you deserve to stop suffering because of what someone else did to you. It’s time to put a stake in the ground and declare that the person who hurt you in the past no longer gets to hold you back from moving forward in the future. Your time with Lysa, Jim, and Joel will include therapeutic insights and solid theological teaching. You’ll learn what the Bible actually says — and doesn’t say — about forgiveness. You’ll also spend time in breakout sessions with small groups of women who understand what you’ve been through.
What you''ll experience:
During your time at Haven Place, you’ll experience powerful teaching sessions that combine biblical truth, emotional insight, and practical next steps for walking the path of forgiveness.
Together we will:
• Gain biblical wisdom on how forgiveness sets you free — even when the other person isn’t sorry
• Discover practical steps to process painful memories and navigate complex emotions
• Learn how to set healthy boundaries that protect your heart while honoring God
• Experience the healing power of sharing your story in a safe and supportive environment

The Forgiveness Retreat is for you if:

• You feel stuck replaying painful memories from a relationship that hurt you deeply
• You’ve tried to move on but bitterness or resentment keeps resurfacing
• Someone who hurt you has never apologized or taken responsibility
• You know you’re supposed to forgive but don’t know how to move toward it
• You want to heal from the past without minimizing what happened to you
• You long for a safe place to process your story with others who understand

"surviving an unwanted Divorce" Retreat

Divorce is never the story you planned. When a marriage ends, the pain can feel overwhelming. Divorce is not just the loss of a relationship — it is the loss of the future you imagined and the life you thought you were building. This retreat isn’t about dwelling on the past — it’s about helping you rediscover stability, strength, and hope for the life that still lies ahead. This retreat, based on Surviving an Unwanted Divorce, is designed to help women process this painful season with biblical wisdom and professional counseling insight. Led by Lysa TerKeurst alongside Jim Cress and Dr. Joel Muddamalle, this retreat provides compassionate guidance for navigating the emotional and spiritual challenges that follow divorce.
NOTE: Book your travel after purchasing your ticket and receiving your confirmation email.

What you''ll experience:
• How to process the grief and trauma of an unwanted divorce
• What Scripture says about heartbreak, suffering, and restoration
• How to rebuild emotional stability when life feels out of control
• Healthy ways to move forward without carrying shame or bitterness
• Practical tools for navigating this new season of life

The "Surviving an Unwanted Divorce" Retreat is for you if:

You’ve walked through or are going through the death of your marriage, and you are struggling to process the heartbreak
• You feel overwhelmed by grief, confusion, and fear about the future
• You are trying to rebuild your life but don’t know where to begin
• You wrestle with questions about faith and identity after divorce
• You are tired of having Scriptures weaponized against you, and you want theological wisdom to understand what the Bible does and does not say about divorce
• You want professional guidance for how to get through this season with wisdom, clarity and connection with the Lord
• You long to process with other women who understand what you’re going through

A Personal Invitation from Lysa

When our family was walking through some of the hardest relational pain of our lives, we longed for a place where people could come to heal.
A place that felt safe.
A place where stories could be shared honestly.
A place where women would experience biblical truth and compassionate care.
Haven Place was created out of that longing.
If you are carrying pain from a relationship, struggling to forgive, or walking through the heartbreak of divorce or trauma caused by someone you thought you could trust, I want you to know you are not alone.
Our team would be honored to walk alongside you during this time.
My prayer is that your time at Haven Place becomes a turning point in your healing journey — where hope begins to grow again and God gently begins restoring the parts of your heart that have been hurting.
I truly hope you’ll join us.
— Lysa
